Sweet Treats

Next Level Chocolate Mousse

Ok, I want to see a show of hands – who here loves a good chocolate dessert?

I mean there’s just something about that rich, satisfying, velvety smooth, sweet treat that really hits the spot, right?

The problem though, is your typical chocolate dessert usually comes laden with a LOT of sugar, which, let’s be real, isn’t so great for your waistline.

So, how do you get your chocolate dessert fix without all that added sugar?

(Hint: Try out the recipe below!!)

Trust me, if you’re as much of a chocaholic as me, you’re going to want whizz up my Next Level Chocolate Mousse.

Give it a whirl, I’d love to know what you think πŸ™‚

Prep Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • For the base:
  • 2oz (60g) chopped frozen banana
  • 3oz (85g) chopped frozen avocado
  • 1/2 scoop (15g) chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tbsp (7g) raw cacao powder
  • 50-100ml unsweetened almond milk
  • For the topping:
  • 1 tbsp (7g) cacao nibs
  • 1 tsp (5g) bee pollen (omit if you want yours to be vegan)
  • 1 tsp (5g) unsweetened desiccated coconut
  • 1 tbsp (7g) unsweetened coconut chips (or flakes)

Instructions

1

Place all the base ingredients - the frozen banana, frozen avocado, protein powder and cacao - into your blender (except the almond milk).

2

Add half of the almond milk and begin to blend - be patient! You may need to pulse several times and scrape down the edges of the blender as you go. Gradually add more almond milk a little at a time to help it blend and become smooth.

3

Once fully blended and silky smooth, spoon into a bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour to let the mousse firm up a little more.

4

When you're ready to serve, lovingly and artfully arrange the toppings as you desire, then devour! πŸ™‚
